Srinagar, Aug 07: At least 73.24 percent uptake, care for pregnancy and childbirth in Marh block of Jammu that emerged as one of the most popular services, highlighting the importance of maternal health in the regions.
The findings of a research provided insight into how different healthcare packages were used in the investigated regions. “From a health worker perspective, there is a 95 percent use rate of reproductive and family planning services confirming the significance of family planning and reproductive health in the area.”
“In attaining SDG 3, the primary healthcare systems needs strengthening and the services extended through the Ayushman Arogya Mandirs may be a step in the right direction,” it reads.
It also said, “With a 73.24 percent uptake, care for pregnancy and childbirth emerged as one of the most popular services, highlighting the importance of maternal health in these regions.”
“Overall 78 percent utilization rate for neonatal and infant healthcare services shows the importance given to prenatal and early childhood care. Other services with use ranging from 25 percent to 70 percent included those for the elderly and palliative care, oral health, screening, prevention, and management of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), paediatric and adolescent healthcare, and outpatient treatment for acute simple illnesses,” reads the study.
It also said that the utilization rates for emergency care and communicable disease management were 47 percent and 49.95 percent, respectively, demonstrating the importance of these services in tackling serious health conditions.
“There is room to improve mental health services given the 23 percent utilization rate for mental, neurological, and substance use disorder care. Eye and ENT Services, on the other hand, had a lower utilization rate at 14.75 percent, indicating potential areas for improvement in the accessibility of specialised treatment.” It reads.
