Baramulla, Mar 2 : Police in its ongoing drive against illegal mining in Baramulla have registered 30 cases and arrested 51 persons for being involved in extraction/ transportation of minerals during the first two months of 2024. Moreover, 51 vehicles used in illegal transport of minerals which includes 19 Tippers, 31 Tractors & an excavators have also been seized from different areas of the district.
Police is committed to take action against violators who are taking undue advantage of night hours by extracting minerals illegally to the detriment of people health, the ecology and the revenue of the government.
