Police organises Football tournament in Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, NOV 14: SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar-IPS today inaugurated Football Tournament at Qamariya Stadium Ganderbal under Civic Action Program.
Eight Football Teams/Clubs belonging to different areas of the district will participate in the tournament. The tournament witnessed huge response of district players & many football teams of the district who desired to participate in the tournament but finally 08 teams were shortlisted through Lucky Draw Series. The selected playing teams whole heartedly thanked J&K Police for organising the event.

The inaugural match was played between Ganderbal Heroes FC Vs Shalbugh Football Community which was won by Shalbugh Football Community by 2:1. Aadil was declared Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
During the inaugural address, SSP Ganderbal appreciated & wished good luck to both the teams for playing the inauguration match of the tournament. He also stressed upon the young & budding players of the district to allow their minds to explore their own thoughts and imagination through the medium of sports. Further, he asked the players to show good sportsmanship, discipline as well as good behaviour towards each other.
It is pertinent to mention here that Ganderbal Police is organising different sports events, like Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Cultural & other Co-curricular activities in the district for the upliftment of sports. The main aim & motive of organising such events is to develop brotherhood, love & peace & keeping youth away from the menace of drug addiction.
Moreover, Addl. SP Ganderbal Malik Aijaz-JKPS, DySP Hqrs Ganderbal Gh Hassan-JKPS & other senior officers of Police and civil administration were also present on the occasion.
