Public lecture on Skill Education delivered at GDC Khansahib

BUDGAM, OCTOBER 25: The Skill Development Cell of Govt. Degree College (GDC) Khansahib organized an extension lecture on the significance of skill education in today’s fast-evolving world.

The event aimed to equip students with the necessary skills to enhance their employability and adapt to the demands of the modern economy. The college faculty and about 100 students attended the event.

The session commenced with an address by Dr. M Mushtaq, Coordinator Skill Development Cell of the college, who emphasized the critical role of skill education in navigating the challenges of a rapidly evolving job market. He laid emphasis on skill education alongside the traditional courses.

Dr. Niyaz Ahmad Naikoo from the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. Degree College Pulwama, delivered the keynote lecture. Dr. Naikoo provided a comprehensive overview of the various skill courses being offered under the Skill India Mission across different sectors. He underscored the growing demand for specialized skills in industries and the critical need for students to integrate these skills into their educational journey to meet future career goals.

The event was held under the esteemed patronage of the Principal of the college, Dr. Nargis Banoo, who reiterated commitment towards skill development alongside academic excellence. She encouraged students to take full advantage of the available skill development programs and equip themselves with the tools necessary for professional success.
