Karwani Islami Continues Its Campaign Against Drug Abuse, Emphasizes Protection of the Youth
Srinagar, June 5: On the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Ameer-ul-Momineen Hazrat Syedna Uthman ibn Affan (RA), a grand gathering was held at Markazi Jamia Masjid Shalteng, Srinagar. Addressing the congregation, Allama Dr. Ghulam Rasool Hami, Patron and Chief of Karwani Islami International, paid rich tribute to the religious, social, and humanitarian services of Hazrat Uthman Ghani (RA). Allama Hami stated that Hazrat Uthman Ghani (RA) was among the foremost companions (As-Sabiqun Al-Awwalun) and held a distinguished position in Islamic history. He dedicated his life to the cause of Islam, the welfare of the Muslim Ummah, and the service of humanity, leaving behind sacrifices and contributions that remain unforgettable. He remarked that the virtues and merits of Hazrat Uthman (RA) are so vast that they cannot be fully covered in a single gathering. Highlighting one of his greatest achievements, Allama Hami said that the compilation, standardization, and dissemination of the Holy Qur’an during the caliphate of Hazrat Uthman (RA) was a monumental service to Islam. Owing to his efforts, the Muslim Ummah continues to remain united upon a single, authentic Qur’anic text, a contribution that will be remembered for all generations. Speaking about his generosity and welfare initiatives, Allama Hami noted that Hazrat Uthman (RA) devoted his wealth and resources to the service of Islam, the poor, orphans, and the needy. His role in providing water facilities for Muslims and supporting various public welfare projects remains a shining chapter in Islamic history. He further stated that Hazrat Uthman Ghani (RA) was a remarkable embodiment of love and loyalty towards the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Referring to the historic Bayat al-Ridwan, Allama Hami said that when the Prophet (PBUH) placed his blessed hand over the other and declared it to represent the hand of Hazrat Uthman (RA), it became a clear testimony to his elevated rank and esteemed status. Allama Hami added that the life of Hazrat Uthman Ghani (RA) serves as a practical model of patience, modesty, generosity, piety, and service to humanity. His sacrifices and noble character, he said, will continue to guide and inspire the Muslim Ummah until the Day of Judgment. On the occasion, Allama Hami also appreciated the anti-drug campaign launched by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, emphasizing that protecting the younger generation from the menace of drug addiction is one of the most pressing needs of the time. He stated that Karwani Islami International remains actively engaged in public awareness and anti-drug initiatives and will continue its efforts to eradicate this social evil from society. He urged parents, teachers, religious scholars, and social organizations to play a constructive role in the guidance and moral upbringing of young people so that a healthy, responsible, and drug-free society can be built. The gathering was attended by a large number of scholars, imams, religious personalities, and members of the general public.
