Sopore, March 12 : Continuing its drive against gambling at public places, Sopore Police conducted a raid in the Amargarh area on specific information and apprehended three persons involved in illegal card gambling.
A police team reached the spot and apprehended the following individuals:
- Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi, S/O Ghulam Nabi Sofi, R/O Naseem Bagh Sopore
- Lateef Ahmad Khanday, S/O Ghulam Qadir Khanday, R/O MET Road Sopore
- Mudasir Ahmad Malik, S/O Mushtaq Ahmad Malik, R/O Sangrama Sopore
During the raid, stake money amounting to ₹5,100 along with playing cards was recovered and seized on the spot.
Accordingly, FIR No. 32/2026 under Section 13 of the Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and further investigation is underway.
Sopore Police reiterate their commitment to maintaining public order and taking firm action against unlawful activities at public places.
