SOPORE POLICE SOLVED MURDER CASE WITHIN TWENTY FOUR HOURS
Sopore,Mar 22: A distress call was received at Police Post Warpora, Sopore from the family of one Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, aged 55, on March 19, 2024, around 22:40 hours, reporting his disappearance since 19:00 hours.

A missing report was lodged at Police Post Warpora, and multiple police search teams headed by SHO PS Sopore Insp. Nissar Ahmad and IC PP Warpora PSI Bilal Rashid, under the overall supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS swiftly started the search.
Intensified search efforts were done throughout the intervening night and two suspects namely 1 Tufail Ahmad Hajam S/O Mohd Akbar Hajam and 2. Obaid Altaf Shah S/O Mohd Altaf Shah R/Os Peer Mohalla Doru were picked up for questioning.During Sustained interrogation the duo had confessed that the missing person has been murdered by them and on their disclosure deadbody of the victim was recovered from the nearby orchards of Dooru during early morning. Accordingly, case FIR No.53/2024 U/S 364, 302,120 B IPC Act has been registered in PS Sopore.
The victim’s body was immediately sent for necessary medico-legal procedures and was returned to his legal heirs for last rites.
A thorough investigation was taken up which reveals personal animosity as the motive behind this henious crime.
Police has gotten hold of key evidence and also has recovered the weapons of murder upon disclosure of the accused persons, properly seized on spot.
