Uri, 09 Aug 2023 : In a major success against terror syndicate originating from PoJK, troops of Dagger Divison, Indian Army along with Uri Police & SB det has arrested 03 terrorist associates of LeT involved in running the module. Acting on a tip off from undisclosed sources Indian Army’s Mike Bn/ Pir Panjal Brigade of Dagger Division in a joint patrolling by Uri Police apprehended one suspected person whose search led to recovery of 2 Grenades. The individual was identified as Showkat Ali Awan S/O Abdul Karim Awan R/O Churunda, Uri
During further questioning he revealed the names of his accomplices Ahmad Din S/O Shukur Din R/O Churunda Uri & Mohammad Sadeeq Khatana S/O Umer Din R/O Churunda who were questioned and upon their disclosure 2 Grenades, 1 Chinese Pistol, 1 Pistol Magazine & 4 live rounds were recovered from them.
It is pertinent to mention here that the accuseds are involved in cross border smuggling of arms and ammunition at the behest of Pakistan based terror handlers and its further distribution to LeT terrorists for carrying out terror activities. Nefarious activities of these individuals were successfully tracked digitally by Indian Army to bust the module
Case under Indian Arms Act & UA (P) Act was registered in Police Station Uri and investigations has been taken up in the matter.
