Sopore, November 13, 2025: Sopore Police along with 22 RR and 179 BN CRPF, arrested two hybrid terrorists during a joint naka operation at Sadeeq Colony, Mominabad Sopore. The naka had been established following specific input regarding movement of suspicious individuals in the area.
During checking, two persons coming from Fruit Mandi Sopore towards Ahat Baba Crossing attempted to flee on noticing the presence of police and security forces. The joint team acted promptly and apprehended both individuals on the spot.
The arrested persons have been identified as:
• Shabir Ahmad Najar, S/O Mohammad Akbar Najar, R/O Mohalla Tawheed Colony Maazbugh
• Shabir Ahmad Mir, S/O Mohammad Sultan Mir, R/O Brath Sopore
Recovery: 01 Pistol, 01 Magazine and 20 Live Rounds
The recoveries indicate their involvement in terror-related activities in the area.
In this regard, case FIR No. 253/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and investigation has been set into motion.
Sopore Police/SFs reaffirm their commitment to maintaining peace and security across the district. Further investigation is underway.
