Sopore, Nov 14 Nov 2025: In a proactive security measure, Sopore Police carried out thorough inspections and verification drives targeting scrap dealers and second-hand vehicle vendors across the town.
The exercise aimed to curb the possible misuse of old or unregistered vehicles for terror-related activities. During the drive, police teams checked documentation, verified identities, and sensitised traders about maintaining proper records of buyers and sellers.
Officials said such surprise inspections are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and prevent any attempt by anti-national elements to exploit gaps in the vehicle trade. Police have urged all dealers to cooperate and ensure strict compliance with verification protocols.
