Unique Handicrafts Exhibition kick starts at Government Arts Emporium

Srinagar Jun 29: The craft exhibition, titled ‘Raising the Bar’ was inaugurated today by the Commissioner Secretary Industries & Commerce Shri Vikram Jeet Singh at Government Arts Emporium. The Exhibition has been conducted in association with the Department of Handicrafts and Handloom kashmir to showcase the  abilities of our young generation in art and craft field . This exhibition is hosted by Kashmir Gen Z  which is a company that focuses on bringing out the best in art & craft within Kashmir.

The exhibition is showcasing a lot of innovative products which are currently on display in the exhibition. These products include unique lampshades, products made from real Kashmiri walnut and deodar wood, willow wicker, and Paper Mache. Many of these products have been given a modern touch in the way they have been created. There has also been an effort to make the products as environmentally friendly as possible. For this matter glass bottles and pine cones have been used.

This exhibit has been an effort to showcase to the public how far the kashmiri people can go to make their crafts trendy and time specific.According to an official statement the departmental initiative “Know Your Artisan” has provided numerous artisans with a platform to cultivate essential skills in branding, networking and raising public awareness. These exhibitions are crucial for fostering cultural exchange, encouraging dialogue and nurturing an investor appreciation for art. They present a unique opportunity to engage with creativity and explore innovative perspectives.
