War Against Drugs Continues: SHOPIAN POLICE ARRESTED ONE DRUG PEDDLER; CHARAS RECOVERED

Srinagar October 23: As part of its sustained efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Shopian Police arrested one drug peddler and recovered charas like substance from his possession within the jurisdiction of Police Station Imamsahib.

During routine naka checking at Narwani Amerbug crossing one person moving under suspicious circumstances and was apprehended tactfully . Upon his search charas like substance weighing approximately 1.480 kgs were recovered from his possession.

The accused has been identified as Aijaz Ahmad Bhat resident of Moman Danjipora Bijbehara.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 32/2025 under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Imamsahib. Investigation has been initiated to trace the forward and backward linkages of the accused person and to unearth the broader network involved in the trade.

Shopian Police reiterates its commitment to maintaining a drug-free society and appeals to the general public to cooperate in this noble mission.
