Will secure 35 seats in J&K assembly elections: Ram Madhav

Srinagar, Sep 5: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader, Ram Madhav, who was recently sent on ‘Mission Kashmir’ to Jammu and Kashmir Thursday said that the party will secure 35 seats across the Union Territory in the upcoming assembly elections.
Talking to reporters in Nowshehra, where the party’s J&K unit president, Ravinder Raina filed his nomination papers today, Madhav said that the rally organized here in Nowshehra is an indication of Raina’s massive win in the upcoming elections.
He added that with the works done by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government in centre, there will be a massive victory of the party in Jammu division, adding that in Kashmir division also, the party is going to field 20 candidates and will fight from almost every seat in Jammu division.
“We are going to emerge victorious from 35 seats in the assembly elections,” he said.
Madhav also said that the party is preparing for a massive win given the works done in Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of Amit Shah in centre and Ravinder Raina in Jammu & Kashmir.
Furthermore, reacting to his statement over the regional parties employing ex-militants in the polls, Madhav said, “it is not just an allegation, but based on a fact. They are roaming freely and we have informed the administration in this regard.”
Pertinently, Nowshehra seat is going to polls in the second phase of three-phased assembly elections, slated to be held from September 18 in Jammu and Kashmir. The counting of votes will, however, take place on October 08.
It is worth to mention here that on August 20 just four days after the elections were announced, the BJP appointed former party general secretary Ram Madhav as election in-charge for the coming Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir, a return to the State for him as he had handled the State in the past on behalf of the BJP and was instrumental in the BJP forming a coalition government there in 2015 along with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
