BANDIPORA, JUNE 07: Under BBBP (Beti Bachao Beti Padhao) campaign, SANKALP-Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti Bandipora conducted mega plantation drive on the name of the girl child as part of World Environment Day, themed ‘Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience.’
The event witnessed participation of girls from different areas of Bandipora who voluntarily planted saplings in deforested areas of the Aloosa Block.
During the event, participants raised slogans ‘Our Land. Our Future,’ ‘Greener Earth Our Worth,’ and ‘Plant Trees, Save Earth,’ holding placards, pamphlets and banners, and also took pledge emphasizing their commitment to environmental conservation and social progress.
On the occasion, an Eco Walk was also organized to showcase the area’s ecology, and highlight the ecological importance and beauty of Wular Lake.
The SANKALP-HEW staff also highlighted the importance of protecting the environment and motivating participants to continue their efforts in environmental preservation.
