Srinagar: A literary meeting was held in honour of Mr. Attaullah Banday (Mumtaz) on 5th April 2026 at the Library Block of Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Baramulla, organized by the Sagar Cultural Forum, Jammu & Kashmir under the chairmanship of Mr. Basharat Zargar.

The meeting witnessed the participation of several senior literary personalities of Baramulla. Among the distinguished invitees was noted literary figure Mr. Attaullah Banday (Mumtaz), who graced the occasion. The event was attended by prominent poets and writers including Dr. Shameem (Principal, BHSS Baramulla), Mr. M. Saleem Beigh, Mr. M. Azim Khan, Mr. Akram Bhat, and other respected literary figures.

The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat Sharif. Mr. Attaullah Banday (Mumtaz) shared insights into his life journey and literary contributions, highlighting his works and achievements in the field of literature.

Senior poets and writers presented their poetry, expressing creative ideas and thoughtful suggestions. A young participant, Khadijah Noor, also spoke on the occasion and delivered an impressive and heartfelt speech. Mr. Tariq Ahmad Banday was also present and appreciated the efforts of the organizers.

On the occasion, Mr. Attaullah Banday (Mumtaz) was honoured with the prestigious Shan-e-Kashmir Award 2025 in recognition of his valuable contributions to literature.

The event proved to be highly impressive and successful, marked by the presence of eminent personalities and enriched by meaningful literary discussions.
