Massive Enforcement Drive in Baramulla: Over 78 Vehicles Challaned

Baramulla, Apr 7: Acting on the directions of the Transport Commissioner J&K, authorities carried out an extensive enforcement drive across District Baramulla to strengthen road safety measures across the Kashmir Division. The drive was conducted at multiple locations including Sopore, Rafiabad, Ladora, and Baramulla.
During the operation, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) team led by ARTO Baramulla, Mudasir, inspected over 350 vehicles. Out of these, 78 vehicles were found violating provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and were e-challaned. A total fine of ₹2,09,400 was imposed for various violations.

The drive focused on offences such as riding without helmets, not wearing seat belts, tampering with HSRP, and other safety violations. Authorities also recommended 45 driving licences for suspension, blacklisted 10 vehicles, and seized 8 vehicles, including 4 two-wheelers being driven without valid licences.
ARTO Baramulla urged the public to strictly follow traffic rules to ensure road safety.
