Ahead of Lok Sabha polls, BJP high command directs J&K unit to knock every door, increase footprints in Kashmir

Jammu, Jul 08: The high command of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday directed its Jammu & Kashmir unit to knock every door and touch each booth for strengthening the party ahead of Lok Sabha elections and possibile civic polls in the Union Territory.
Party sources told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)that BJP’s national president Jagat Prakash Nadda chaired a key meeting with organizational leaders of North Zone in New Delhi today . The meeting was also attended by Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Ravinder Raina and Organizational General Secretary Ashok Koul.
Party insiders said that the BJP leadership directed its J&K unit to increase outreach programs and inform the people about government welfare schemes. The local leadership was also asked to knock every door in their respective areas and strengthen booth- level management to ensure its success in the polls, the sources said.
The party was also directed the workers to increase its footprints in the valley.
“The present government has initiated a number of schemes for people’s welfare. It has launched special schemes for tribals, which needs to be highlighted,” the leadership told J&K unit. When contacted, BJP J&K unit General Secretary, Ashok Koul said, “The party meeting reviewed organizational matters and took booth- wise status of activities.”—(KNO)
