Pays rich tribute to Mukherjee for laying foundation of nationalism in J&K
Srinager, June 23: BJP national general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh, who is also the party incharge for J&K, today paid a rich tribute to the Jan Sangh(now BJP) founder Shyama Prasad Mukherjee who sacrificed his life to uphold the national spirit of the country.
While recalling his sacrifice Chugh questioned the morality of the then J&K chief minister Sheikh Abdullah during whose tenure Shyama Prasad Mukhejee died in dubious circumstances after his arrest for entering J&K without permission.
Chugh said Mukherjee symbolised the national sentiment of all-inclusive Bharat which Abdullah had been trying to sabotage.
Chugh said Mukherjee was against a separate constitution , separate flag and a separate political system for J&K which Sheikh Abdulah was trying to establish under Article 370.
He said the fact that there was no independent inquiry or investigation into his death explains adequately that there was a conspiracy which till date has not been unfolded.
Chugh said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken decisive decisions like abrogation of Article 370 to integrate J&K with India and give the union territory a new vision of growth and development.
Chugh condemned the Abdullah family for denying people in J&K their basic right and economic prosperity.
