Football fever has gripped North Kashmir with the commencement of the Maj Gopi Singh Rathore, SC Memorial North Kashmir Football Premier League, bringing together 68 teams from across the region.
The tournament is being conducted from 21 to 26 September 2026 across Bandipora, Uplona, Kigaon and Sopore.The league provides a vibrant platform for young footballers to showcase their talent, gain competitive experience and compete in the true spirit of teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.
The enthusiastic participation of teams and local communities has added to the excitement across all four venues.The top two teams from each location will qualify for the Mega Event, tentatively scheduled at Bandipora in November 2026, where the eight qualifying teams will compete for the coveted title.
Organised in memory of Maj Gopi Singh Rathore, SC, the tournament is a tribute to his legacy of courage, dedication and service. It also seeks to channel the energy and aspirations of youth towards sports, excellence and positive engagement.With 68 teams, four locations and one coveted title, the tournament is set to be a celebration of football, youth, talent and sportsmanship, bringing communities together through their shared passion for the beautiful game.
