GOC Dagger Division Felicitates BCF Officials, Sports Council, Civil Society and Media for Successful Conduct of Chinar Premier League 2026

Baramulla, September 16, 2026: The General Officer Commanding (GOC), Dagger Division, Major General Manoj Joshi, VSM, today felicitated the Chairman, General Secretary and officials of the Baramulla Cricket Forum (BCF), along with representatives of the Sports Council, civil society members and media fraternity, in recognition of their valuable contribution towards the successful conduct of the Chinar Premier League (CPL) 2026 and Chinar Women Premier League (CWPL).

The Chinar Premier League 2026 witnessed participation from 79 teams from across Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, providing a major platform for talented cricketers to showcase their skills. The Chinar Women Premier League also brought together women cricketers and teams from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, promoting greater participation of women in the sport.

During the felicitation ceremony, Major General Manoj Joshi presented Certificates of Appreciation to the BCF office bearers, officials, representatives of the Sports Council, civil society members and members of the media fraternity for their dedicated efforts in making the mega sporting initiative a success.

Major General Manoj Joshi appreciated the organisers and all those associated with the tournament for conducting the event in a cordial, disciplined and positive atmosphere in Baramulla. He acknowledged the collective efforts that enabled players from different parts of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh to come together on a common sporting platform.

A significant highlight of this year’s tournament was the conduct of cricket matches under high-mast lights at General Bipin Rawat Stadium, Baramulla, providing players with an opportunity to experience night cricket and marking an important milestone for the region’s sporting infrastructure.

The GOC also appreciated the contribution of the Sports Council, civil society, officials, volunteers and media fraternity, along with everyone working behind the scenes, for their support in successfully conducting the tournament.

The felicitation recognised the collective efforts of Baramulla’s sporting community in creating a welcoming platform for young men and women cricketers from across Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

The Chinar Premier League continues to provide a platform for youth empowerment, talent identification, women’s participation in cricket, sports development and sports tourism, further strengthening Baramulla’s growing identity as an important sporting destination.
