Govt directs availability of administrative secretaries at Srinagar, Jammu Civil Secretariats

Srinagar, Apr 27: In a move to ensure smooth functioning of administrative offices, the government has issued directives to Administrative Secretaries regarding their presence at the Civil Secretariats in Srinagar and Jammu.
According to the order, with effect from May 1, 2024, Administrative Secretaries are required to ensure their availability at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar. However, they will also be required to attend the Civil Secretariat in Jammu as per functional requirements.

The Civil Secretariat will continue to remain operational at both locations and Administrative Secretaries have been tasked with making necessary arrangements for the seamless functioning of offices in Srinagar and Jammu.
Furthermore, the respective Administrative Departments have been directed to determine the availability of staff to ensure efficient conduct of official business at both places, with minimal shifting of personnel.
The Estates Department has been instructed to provide accommodation to officers and officials, as per requirement, only where necessary, upon requisition by the concerned Administrative Departments.
This move aims to streamline administrative processes and ensure uninterrupted governance by maintaining dual Civil Secretariats in the Union Territory.
