SRINAGAR, FEB 10 : One-Day Awareness Program on Centrally Sponsored “Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME)” was today oraginsed by Horticulture Planning & Marketing Department at Nowgam Srinagar.
The awareness programme was organised by Area Marketing Officer, District Nodal Officer PMFME Scheme district Srinagar.
PRIs, Bakery Unit Holders of the area, educated unemployed youth, progressive farmers entrepreneurs interested in upgrading their existing units or setting up of new units vehemently attended the awareness camp. The members of (DLSC) of PMFME scheme were also present.
Experts from allied Departments deliberated upon the schemes pertaining to the Horticulture Sector in detail.
Marketing Inspector, Shabir Mufti apprised audience about Micro-food Processing Sector in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and need to integrate the existing unorganized Micro-food Processing Units of the district.
He said that in order to accomplish the objective of Self-Reliant India (Aatma Nirbar Bharat), the Ministry of Food Processing Industries launched the PMFME scheme to provide financial, technical and marketing support to upgrade the existing micro-food processing units or establish new units thereby integrating around 2 lac micro-food processing enterprises in the unorganized sector with formal supply chain.
The different formalities of the project under the said scheme like financial assistance, technical knowledge, preparation of DPRS were discussed in threadbare with the participants.
The educated unemployed youth were urged to set up their own micro-food processing units and avail credit linked subsidy of 35% of the eligible project cost with a maximum ceiling of Rs 10.00 lac per unit and interest subvention of 3% available under the scheme.
The District Resource Person PMFME Scheme Srinagar requested the interested applicants to contact him for assistance in the submission of application, DPR preparation, follow up of cases at bank level etc.
On spot assistance was provided to the beneficiaries to register them under the scheme. The awareness camp was concluded by vote of thanks to the participants by the Assistant Marketing Officer Bashir Ahmad Sofi.
