SRINAGAR, NOV 20: The Indian Army’s Special Scholarship Scheme 2023 in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is extending financial assistance and scholarships to students exhibiting exceptional talent and unwavering commitment to their academic endeavours.
An official of the Army said that the scheme under Operation Sadbhavana is designed to provide financial assistance and scholarships to students who exhibit exceptional talent and dedication to their education.
“Under this scheme, the Indian Army will be sponsoring the education of 146 students hailing from various districts in the valley. These students will be selected based on their exceptional talent, dedication to their studies, and a demonstrated need for financial assistance. The scholarship program will provide each chosen student with substantial financial support amounting to Rs 1.2 lakh,” he added.
Another top official of the Indian Army expressed the commitment of the armed forces to empower the youth in the region through education.
He stated, “Education is a powerful tool that can transform lives and communities. The Jammu and Kashmir Special Scholarship Scheme is a testament to our dedication to the development of the youth in the region. By investing in their education, we hope to contribute to a brighter and more promising future for these talented individuals,” he said.
He said that since the scholarship program was launched, it has garnered positive responses from various quarters, including educators, parents, and local authorities.
