PM Modi announces Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia

New Delhi, April 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed deep grief over the loss of lives in the bus accident in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, and announced ex-gratia relief for the victims.
In a message shared by the Prime Minister’s Office, Modi extended condolences to the families of those who died in the accident and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

“Pained to hear about the loss of lives due to a bus accident in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir. I extend my heartfelt condolences to those who have lost their near and dear ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured,” the Prime Minister said.
He announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each deceased, while ₹50,000 will be provided to those injured in the accident.
The announcement comes amid ongoing rescue and relief efforts following the fatal accident on the Ramnagar–Udhampur highway, which has resulted in multiple casualties and injuries.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation, with medical assistance being provided to the injured at various healthcare facilities. (KNT)
