Srinagar | June 28, 2026: Chairman of the Save Sharda Committee Kashmir (Regd.), Ravinder Pandita, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, at Raj Bhavan, Srinagar, on Saturday. He was accompanied by the Committee’s Coordinator, Ajaz Khan.
During the meeting, Ravinder Pandita invited the Lieutenant Governor to attend the upcoming Varshik Abhishek and Sharda Divas celebrations at the historic Sharda Temple near the Line of Control (LoC) in Teetwal, Karnah. The Lieutenant Governor accepted the invitation and expressed his willingness to participate in the annual Sharda Divas event scheduled for September this year.
The meeting also focused on improving facilities for pilgrims visiting the Sharda Temple. The Lieutenant Governor agreed to provide transit accommodation for Sharda Yatris at the Amarnath Yatri Bhawan, Pantha Chowk. Discussions were also held regarding the allotment of land on a lease basis for the construction of a Yatri Niwas at Teetwal and the installation of a solar lighting system for the Sharda Temple and the nearby Gurudwara.
On the occasion, Ravinder Pandita presented the Lieutenant Governor with a traditional Sharda Shawl, a portrait of the historic Sharda Temple at Teetwal, and Prashad.
The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the dedicated efforts of Ajaz Khan and the local residents in preserving and reclaiming the region’s rich cultural and religious heritage. He noted that these initiatives have significantly contributed to promoting border tourism and religious tourism in the Karnah region.
