MUMBAI, NOV 17: In his efforts to praise his Tiger 3 co-star Salman Khan, actor Emraan Hashmi touched upon why it often seems like the superstar isn’t putting his heart and soul into his performances. Emraan said that Salman has such a natural charisma on camera that it can be slightly disarming to watch. But upon closer inspection, it’s clear that Salman knows exactly what he’s doing.
In a chat with Zoom Entertainment, Emraan was asked about Salman’s evolution as an actor. He said, “I’ve grown up watching his films. He’s really evolved. Especially in those moments in the first half, or how he pitches the vulnerability of the character, the way he cries on screen. He’s really come a long way. Salman has so much charisma… Sometimes you don’t need to put in so much effort, and that shows. He’s kind of effortless, but he knows what works.”
Emraan continued, “Sometimes you see him enact a scene on set, and you’re like, ‘Okay, he’s doing it kind of casually’. But you see him on the monitor, you see that he’s pushing the buttons in the right way. This is a testament to the hard work he’s put in for so many years, the experience that he has garnered.” Emraan said that he had a great time working with Salman, and said that they ‘vibe well’ with each other even though they don’t hang out often outside of work.
In the same interview, Emraan explained why he isn’t a fan of Bollywood parties, and said that he left Shah Rukh Khan’s recent birthday bash by midnight. “I was never a big fan of parties. I don’t know why. They just don’t do anything for me. I don’t drink, therein lies the biggest problem. And I don’t make film industry small talk. The last thing I want to do is talk shop after pack-up,” he said. Released on Sunday, Tiger 3 is inching towards the Rs 300 crore global gross.
