State Taxes Department organizes Speech Competition on ‘Sustainable Development’

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 14: As part of celebrations of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav’ under the theme ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’, the State Taxes Department Kashmir under the guidance of Commissioner State Taxes, Dr. Rashmi Singh today organized a Speech Competition, centered around the theme of ‘Sustainable Development’ at E&T Complex Solina, Srinagar.
The Speech Competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various Government schools of the Valley.
Besides Commissioner State Taxes Kashmir, Dr. Rashmi Singh; Additional Commissioner State Taxes Kashmir, Shakeel Maqbool, the programme was attended by DC Enforcement (Central) Parvaiz Ahmad Raina, DC Recovery and IT, DC Appeals II, Assistant Commissioners, States Taxes Officers, Inspectors, SI’s, teachers and other officials of the department.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner State Taxes Kashmir said that the primary objective of the event is fostering educational initiatives that resonate with the public. Through this event, the State Taxes Department aims to raise awareness about the pressing need for sustainable practices and responsible resource management among students and the general public, she said.
The focus has always been on individual and collective efforts in realizing a harmonious balance between economic growth, environmental protection, and social equity, Dr. Rashmi said, adding that the department remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering sustainable development and looks forward to continuing its efforts through similar engaging events in the future.
Interacting with the media, Additional Commissioner State Taxes said that the event provided a platform for students to articulate their insights and ideas on how to achieve sustainable development in our communities, in line with the broader goals of environmental conservation and socio-economic progress.
Later, students were awarded mementos and Certificates of appreciation by Commissioner State Taxes Kashmir for their participation in the programme.
Pertinent to mention here, the State Taxes Department also awarded certificates of appreciation to officials who participated in the Rangoli Making Competition and Skit on the theme ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’.
