SRINAGAR, DEC 18: As the chill of winter begins to wane, a burst of vibrant hues is set to grace the serene landscape of Srinagar, Jammu, and Kashmir, as officials announce the upcoming Tulip show at the majestic Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden.
The event, scheduled between March and April 2024, promises to be a visual spectacle, with a staggering 1.7 million tulip bulbs poised to burst into a riot of colours.
Javed Masood, the Floriculture Officer and In-Charge of the Tulip Garden, shared the excitement surrounding the event, revealing that the meticulous process of sowing tulip bulbs will conclude within days. The garden, nestled in the foothills of the Zabarwan range, sprawls over 30 hectares of terraced beauty, providing a breathtaking panorama of the iconic Dal Lake.
Preparations for the event are in full swing, with a dedicated team working tirelessly to ensure that the garden is a feast for the eyes of local, national, and international visitors alike. Masood disclosed, “This year, we’ve introduced even more varieties of bulbs to showcase the unparalleled beauty of Asia’s largest Tulip Garden.”
With optimism in the air, Masood expressed his hope that the forthcoming Tulip show would surpass previous records in terms of visitor numbers. In 2023, the garden attracted a staggering 3.75 million visitors, both from within the nation and beyond. “We hope the record will be broken in the next Tulip show,” he enthusiastically declared.
