BJP J&K Appeals for Mass Participation in Secretariat Gherao Against Outsourcing Policy
Srinagar, July 19: BJP Jammu & Kashmir Spokespersons Manzoor Bhat and Sahil Bashir Bhat have made a passionate appeal to the people of Jammu & Kashmir, particularly the youth, to participate in large numbers in the Secretariat Gherao on 20 July against the outsourcing policy and what they described as the continued failure of the present government to address the aspirations of the unemployed youth.
The spokespersons said that nearly one and a half years after assuming office, the Omar Abdullah led government has failed to fulfil the expectations it raised among the youth. They said that promises of employment and better opportunities remain unfulfilled, while thousands of educated young people continue to struggle in search of dignified jobs.
They further alleged that instead of creating a transparent and merit based employment system, the government has allowed uncertainty to grow, and concerns over corruption and lack of accountability have increased. They said these issues have deeply affected public confidence and have left many young people frustrated about their future.
Manzoor Bhat and Sahil Bashir Bhat said that the Secretariat Gherao is a democratic movement to demand fairness, transparency, accountability, and employment opportunities for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir.
The BJP leaders informed that invitations have been extended to nearly 30 organisations and stakeholders, including chambers of commerce, trade and business associations, transport bodies, student organisations, religious bodies, civil society groups, and other social organisations. They appealed to all of them to participate in this peaceful democratic protest and stand in solidarity with the youth.
They also appealed to students, unemployed youth, traders, professionals, employees, and every concerned citizen to rise above political differences and join this movement.
“This is not merely a protest; it is a fight to protect the future of an entire generation. If we remain silent today, tomorrow our youth will ask why we failed to stand with them when their dreams and opportunities were at stake. Every citizen who believes in justice, merit, and equal opportunity should join this movement and make their voice heard.
The BJP reiterated that the protest will be peaceful, democratic, and focused on protecting the rights, dignity, and future of the youth of Jammu & Kashmir, and called upon the people to participate in overwhelming numbers.
