Doda / Bhalesa: Emphasizing human values, mutual tolerance, moral education, and collective awareness against drugs as the true foundation of societal progress, Chief of Karwani Islami International stated that the centuries-long services of saints and Sufis in Doda and its adjoining regions have established an atmosphere of humanity, brotherhood, and social harmony that still defines these areas today. He said that although the modern world may consider these regions geographically remote or desert like, people of wisdom and intellect know well that these valleys have lit the lamps of civilization, morality, and human love whose light continues to illuminate society even today. These remarks were made by chief of Karwani Islami International Allama Dr. Shaykh Ghulam Rasool Hami while addressing a grand public gathering in Bhalesa, Doda, where thousands of people, social figures, scholars, youth, and individuals from different walks of life participated. Extraordinary enthusiasm was witnessed among the attendees at the venue. He stressed the promotion of peace, brotherhood, and moral values in the region. Allama Hami said that the real strength of Doda and similar regions lies in their spiritual centers and revered saints who, generation after generation, taught love, compassion, sacrifice, and the welfare of humanity. He stated that it is due to the teachings of these elders that the spirit of mutual tolerance, religious respect, and protection of human rights is still alive in these areas. According to him, the sustainable development of human society cannot be achieved through material education alone; moral and spiritual training is equally essential. The scholar further said that in regions like Doda, where the scope of modern and secular education has expanded, the preservation of moral training and human values is also clearly visible, and this balance is in fact the result of the teachings of saints and Sufis. He added that the true beauty of any society becomes evident when every human being is given dignity, love, and security beyond differences of sect, religion, language, and region. During his address, Allama Hami expressed serious concern over the growing trend of drug abuse and said that protecting the younger generation from the curse of addiction is one of the greatest needs of the time. He welcomed the ongoing nationwide actions and awareness campaigns against narcotics, saying that such measures are extremely necessary to prevent social destruction in time. He remarked that drugs do not destroy only an individual, but push entire families, societies, and future generations toward devastation. Allama Hami clarified that the mission for the complete eradication of drugs has been among the fundamental objectives of since its inception, and the organization has continuously been advancing this mission through public awareness drives, reformative programs, and youth guidance across different regions. He stated that governmental action alone is not sufficient to eliminate this menace; every individual must fulfill their social responsibility. He appealed to the public, mosque imams, teachers, social workers, and parents to transform the anti-drug movement into a people’s campaign within their localities and to pay special attention to the intellectual, moral, and religious upbringing of the younger generation. He said that if every home, every neighborhood, and every educational institution becomes part of this movement, then every corner of the region can become free from drugs and an example of a healthy and secure society.
