Indian Army Concludes ‘Surya Green: Himalayan Odyssey’ EV Expedition in Leh, Showcasing Green Mobility at Extreme Altitudes

The Indian Army today formally Flagged in Surya Green: Himalayan Odyssey at the historic Hall of Fame in Leh, marking the successful culmination of a 1,663 kilometer Electric Vehicle expedition from Kasauli to Leh across some of the world’s highest motorable passes. Conducted by the Golden Key Division of Central Command in partnership with Tata EV, the expedition has decisively validated the endurance and reliability of electric vehicles in extreme high-altitude terrain including the formidable Umling La at over 19,000 feet, Chang La, and the remote stretches of Hanle and Tangtse.

Graced by senior military dignitaries, the successful completion of this monumental journey reaffirms the Indian Army’s unwavering resolve to champion sustainable Green Mobility anchored with Honorable Prime Minister’s vision, the FAME and PM E DRIVE schemes, and India’s pledge to be Net Zero by 2070 while maintaining impregnable operational readiness along the Northern Frontiers.
