SRINAGAR, MAR 01: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has sought information on complaints received through the Jammu and Kashmir Integrated Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (JKIGRAMS) portal, along with an action taken report on public outreach programs, from the relevant officers.
JKIGRAMS was launched a few years ago and has been developed as an e-Governance initiative to provide a 24×7 platform to the citizens for the redressal of their grievances.
The Lieutenant Governor has been himself monitoring the working of JKIGRAMS to ensure grievances of the common masses are addressed at the earliest.
During LG’s Mulaqaat on Thursday, a live public grievance hearing program, Sinha stated that he sought details of complaints received via the JKIGRAMS portal and the action taken report on public outreach programs from the relevant administrative officials.
Sources said he has sought scheme-wise categorization of the grievances.
Deputy Commissioners have been directed to ensure that areas needing intervention in power infrastructure are included in the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
Sources said monitoring dashboards have been provided to the administrative secretaries to monitor the disposal of the grievances under their administrative control.
“The government will take action against those officials who are found not having addressed the genuine grievance of the people,” a senior official said.
The official said the government has taken several steps/initiatives to ensure transparency/accountability in financial management and also in the implementation of projects. “Administrative approvals, technical sanction and E-tendering have been made mandatory for transparent execution of works. Authorization of works/projects and resource allocation is made through BEAMS (Budget Estimation, Allocation & Monitoring System), which is real-time and paperless. Geo-tagged photographs of works (before and after execution) are now mandatory for making payments at the treasury. All works/projects being implemented in the UT are in the public domain for public feedback/suggestions to improve expenditure outcomes and ensure the involvement of people in development works,” the official quoted government’s directives to departments.
