At the invitation of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, Tourism and Cultural Department, KoshurRaag, a USA-based Kashmiri cultural organization, presented a Kashmiri cultural program featuring poetry, music, dance, songs, and theater. Set against the serene backdrop of the Sacred River Ganga, devotees were immersed in the heart of Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage.
The Principal Secretary of Tourism and Culture, UP Government, graced the occasion and highlighted the religious and cultural significance that promoted unity in diversity. The cultural presentation was directed and curated by USA-based renowned film producer and writer, Sunayana Kachroo. Among the highlights was a classical Santoor recital by Pandit Abhay Sopori. The audience was enthralled by a mesmerizing group performance from Kashmir Harmonies, led by Saurabh Zadoo, Rahul Wanchoo, Meeru Raina, Ritika Raina, Harshita Pandita, and Rajesh Jalali. The atmosphere reverberated with a foot-thumping tandav dance by Priyalaxmi Kaul and Chhavi Kaul.
The spiritual presentation included devotional bhajans by Shri Dhananjay Kaul Ji and a captivating theatrical portrayal of Shri Ram by Shri Daleep Langoo Ji, with performances by Chander Zutshi, Superna Sapru, Meenu Sharma, Lalit Zaroo, Rohit Kaul, and Simmi Kaul. Soulful renditions of Kabir bhajans were performed by singer Ragini Renu, accompanied by poet-lyricist Sunayana Kachroo. The musical accompaniment included Raag Yaman, Ujith Udayakumar, Prodyot Banerjee, Chanchal Singh, and Dr. Ankit Parikh.
After the mesmerizing performance, Mayor of Prayagraj Ganesh Kesarwani expressed his gratitude towards the artists from Kashmir who came from all over the world. He highlighted the significance of the event and his personal connection with Kashmir. The evening was also graced by the presence of Additional Secretary Smt. Anita Meshram, Dr. Shobhit Kumar Nahar, Director of the UP Sangeet Natak Academy, and Tuhin Dwivedi, Assistant Director (Law) of the Culture Directorate. They felicitated the artists by presenting them with mementoes from the U.P. Government. KoshurRaag founders also felicitated the dignitaries. Shri Anil Tripathi was the anchor of this cultural event.
