Make ‘ease of living’ your topmost priority: LG Manoj Sinha to officials

‘Credit must go to entire team of officials for successful developmental works’

Srinagar, Aug 07: The Lieutenant Governor Manoj  Sinha has asked all the officials to make ‘ease of living’ for the common man their topmost priority.

Manoj  Sinha while interacting with the top officials said that the ease of living of the people in the Union territory, was a top priority for the government.

 “The government has taken a number of steps to improve the ease of living. You must consult people from all walks of life and get ideas on key policy subjects,” the LG has said.

Congratulating the officials for their governance efforts, the LG said that the people of the Union territory have a lot of expectations from the government and he sees this as a good thing. “We should take the expectations of people as an opportunity for us to work even harder,” LG said.

“The government is committed to making Jammu and Kashmir a more livable region for all its citizens. The steps that have been taken so far have had a positive impact on the ease of living in the region. The government will continue to take steps to improve the ease of living in the years to come,” the LG added.

Praising the officials, Lieutenant Manoj  Sinha said that for the massive developmental initiatives especially in Jammu and Srinagar cities, the credit must go to the entire team of officials, who worked hard, conceived schemes, and delivered excellent results on the ground.

During the interactions, various top officials shared their vision and ideas on subjects such as administrative decision making, agriculture, rural development and Panchayati Raj, Initiatives, education reform, healthcare, industrial policy, economic growth, skill development etc.

On 28 June 2022, LG Sinha launched the “Ease of Living Index” for Jammu and Kashmir.

Since then it is seen as a tool to measure the ease of living in the region and to identify areas where improvements need to be made.

The index is used to track the progress of the government in improving the ease of living for citizens.

The launch of the Ease of Living Index was a significant step in the government’s efforts to improve the ease of living in Jammu and Kashmir.

“In the last one year the ease of living index helps us to ensure that the government is working in the best interests of the people,” the officials said.

It is to mention here that the government has invested heavily in infrastructure in the Union territory which has led to the construction of new roads, bridges, and the improvement of existing infrastructure, such as the power grid and the water supply system.

The government has also launched a number of schemes to provide affordable housing to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. These schemes have helped to make housing more accessible to people from all income groups.

The government has also invested in education and healthcare in Jammu and Kashmir. This has led to an increase in the number of schools and hospitals in the region and improvement in the quality of education and healthcare services.

The government has also taken steps to promote economic development in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the government the biggest change in these years is that the common people of Jammu and Kashmir are living life according to their own wishes.
