Training programme for Phase 2nd of Agriculture Census held at Baramulla

BARAMULLA, NOVEMBER 27: A training programme for the second phase of the Agriculture Census was held today at Dak Bungalow Baramulla to train field functionaries and supervisors/ enumerators of the Revenue Department in data collection for the census. 

The training saw the participation of several Revenue Officers, including Assistant Commissioner Revenue Baramulla, Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, and Patwaries from various parts of Baramulla district.

The focus was on collecting vital data related to agricultural operational holders, land use patterns, soil types, tenancy status, and irrigation facilities. These aspects are crucial for understanding and improving agricultural practices in the region.

Expert guidance was provided by Master Trainers from the Financial Commissioner Revenue Office, Srinagar. They delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation, explaining the importance of the census and the methodologies for data collection. The trainers emphasized the role of accurate data in shaping policies and planning for the agricultural sector.

This phase of the agricultural census is being conducted using an Android App and a web-based system to ensure efficiency and precision. The initiative is considered highly significant for planners and policymakers in formulating strategies that address the challenges and opportunities in agriculture.
