UT Foundation Day/ Rashtriya Ekta Diwas-2023: DC Bandipora kick starts plantation drive at District Hospital

BANDIPORA, OCT 26 : As part of commemoration of the J&K Union Territory Foundation Day, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Friday initiated a large-scale plantation drive at the District Hospital Bandipora.
As part of the ongoing celebrations, the District Administration Bandipora demonstrated its commitment to environmental conservation and beautification. The event began with a brief inauguration ceremony attended by government officials, healthcare workers, and local dignitaries.
The DC planted the first sapling as a symbol of unity, and the dedication of district administration vis-à-vis preserving the environment. He emphasized the importance of green initiatives in promoting a sustainable and healthy future for the community.
The plantation drive was attended by various government departments, volunteers, and local residents. They planted a variety of saplings, including indigenous tree species, flowering plants, and shrubs, around the premises of the Hospital.
Dr Owais said that Union Territory Foundation Day is an occasion to celebrate our rich culture besides spirit and unity. He said that by coming together for this plantation drive, we aim to enhance the green cover in our district and create a more welcoming and soothing atmosphere for patients and their families at the District Hospital.
