SRINAGAR, MAY 21, 2026: In a powerful stride toward a drug-free society, a mega one-day awareness program under the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan was jointly organized today by the 132 Bn CRPF “Secure Path” and Shining Star Public High School at Baghi Mehtab, Srinagar.
The event commenced with high energy, seamlessly anchored by talented 10th-grade student hosts, Ms. Ulooma Shabir and Tanzeela. Delivering the keynote address, eminent Resource Person S-Umar Bhat provided deep insights into the psychological and social impacts of substance abuse, urging the youth to stay vigilant.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Sh. W. R. Josuah, Commandant 132 Bn CRPF, delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing collective societal responsibility and youth empowerment. Following this, a solemn Oath Ceremony was led by S-Umar Bhat, binding all participants to the anti-drug crusade. The momentum accelerated with a joint Plantation Drive symbolizing growth and renewal, followed by a massive Signature Campaign kicked off by the Chief Guest.

A Proven Track Record of Community ServiceBeyond maintaining active security, the 132 Bn CRPF has a long, distinguished history of championing social welfare across the valley:Education & Youth Empowerment: The battalion has consistently supported local youth by distributing books, stationery, and computer equipment to underprivileged schools, alongside organizing career counseling seminars.
Skill Development & Women Empowerment: Driven by a vision of economic self-reliance, the battalion has introduced specialized short-term crash certificate courses in skill development for unemployed youth. Notably, particular emphasis has been laid on home-based, skill-building initiatives for girls to empower the local women folk, offering critical hand-holding support and startup-centric guidance across various neighborhoods.
Public Health & Safety: Over the years, the unit has conducted numerous free medical camps and blood donation drives, ensuring critical healthcare access and distributing free medicines to remote and economically weaker pockets of Srinagar.
Environmental Preservation: Aligned with the Swachh Bharat vision, the battalion regularly leads massive afforestation drives, planting thousands of saplings annually to preserve Kashmir’s fragile ecosystem.Peace & Harmony Initiatives: To strengthen community ties and sustain long-term peace, the 132 Bn has historically hosted popular sports tournaments, civic action programs, and cultural exchanges, transforming the traditional security dynamic into a collaborative partnership for regional prosperity.
Community Appreciation & Grand FinaleMeanwhile, participating community organization leaders, parents, and credible faces of society warmly appreciated these multi-front efforts. Highlighting it as the dire need of the hour, they requested the Chief Guest to scale up and conduct such impactful programs on a rotational basis.
The high-energy program concluded with a 10-minute Felicitation Ceremony by the organizers to honor the change-makers, culminating in a vibrant Flag Off Rally led by the Chief Guest to echo the message of a healthy, addiction-free India across Srinagar.
