Srinagar July 30: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has issued strict directives mandating the presence of all government officials stationed in Srinagar and Jammu at the upcoming Independence Day celebrations scheduled for August 15, 2025.
According to a circular issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), attendance at the national event will be considered part of the officials’ official duties. The two main venues for the celebrations are Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar and Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu.
“This day marks a defining moment in the country’s history, and it is the responsibility of every government servant to participate in its commemoration,” the circular stated.
The government has made it clear that no absence will be tolerated without prior approval from the respective controlling officer. Heads of Departments, Administrative Secretaries, and executives of Public Sector Undertakings have been directed to ensure full attendance of staff under their jurisdiction.
“Administrative Secretaries, HoDs, and Managing Directors must oversee that all officers and officials under their administrative control stationed in Srinagar or Jammu attend the respective functions,” the circular emphasized.
The move underscores the administration’s commitment to reinforcing patriotic spirit and unity through full participation in national celebrations, especially in the Union Territory’s twin capitals.
