Pampore, March 24: Hundreds of people from different areas attended a free medical camp organised by the 110 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Gujjar Basti, Galander in Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.
Officials said that more than 300 people benefited from the camp, where medical consultations and basic treatment were provided to the attendees.
The camp was inaugurated by a village elder of Galander in the presence of B. R. Meena, Commandant of the 110 Battalion, Second-in-Command, Sudhir Chauhan, Second-in-Command, Kuldeep Singh and other officers along with many local prominent.
The camp was organised as part of the CRPF’s Civic Action Programme, aimed at providing quality healthcare services to underprivileged sections and distributing free medicines among local residents.
Following medical check-ups conducted by the unit’s doctors, free medicines were distributed to around 300 patients, including women and elderly individuals.
Local residents expressed enthusiasm over the initiative and appreciated the efforts of the Commandant and his team for organising the camp and addressing healthcare needs in the area.
Speaking to Morning Kashmir, a local resident, Nazir Ahmad Khan, expressed his gratitude for the medical camp, highlighting its benefits for the community. He said that the free medicines provided at the camp were particularly helpful for those living below the poverty line.
“We are very grateful to the 110 Battalion CRPF for organising this medical camp here,” he added.
