Kashmir Youth Football Tournament (KYFT) U-16 Girls Final

Srinagar: The U-16 Girls Final of the Kashmir Youth Football Tournament, organized by 161 Battalion CRPF, concluded successfully with great enthusiasm and participation in Downtown.

In a thrilling final match, New Hyderya Football Club emerged as the winner, defeating Tawheed Tigers Soura by 1-0. The winning goal was scored by Ulfat, who was also declared the Player of the Tournament for her outstanding performance.

The event was graced by Sh. Balihar Singh, Commandant, 161 BN CRPF, as the Chief Guest, alongside Sh. Sanjay Kumar, 2IC, 161 BN CRPF. This tournament marks a historic moment for Downtown, where football once had a strong presence. The event has played a significant role in reviving the football culture and encouraging youth participation in sports.

A large crowd gathered to witness the final match, including enthusiastic participation from students of Narwara Girls High School, Narwara, Eidgah, reflecting growing interest among young girls in sports.

During the event, Sh. Balihar Singh distributed volleyballs and nets to the students of Narwara Girls High School. He also extended financial assistance of ₹5100/- to a specially-abled Class 12 student, Ghulam Hussain, as a gesture of encouragement and support.

Medals, cash prizes, and trophies were distributed to the winner, runner-up, and third-place teams.

Addressing the gathering, the Commandant encouraged young girls to actively participate in sports and bring pride to Kashmir and the nation. He also urged the youth to stay away from drugs and engage in constructive and positive activities through sports.

The event was also attended by Sh. Amit Kumar Singh, Assistant Commandant, and Sh. Kiran Sonawane, who motivated and supported the young participants.

This initiative by 161 BN CRPF is one of the first of its kind in Downtown, and the enthusiastic local participation reflects growing trust and cooperation between the community and security forces. The tournament is expected to play a vital role in shaping a brighter, sports-oriented future for the youth.

Sh. Balihar Singh assured that such tournaments will continue to be organized in the future to further promote sports culture and channelize youth energy in a positive direction.
